Who we are
Downingtown Balvihar (DBV) is a volunteer driven, non-profit (With IRS 501C3 certification) organization in West Chester, PA. We offer classroom and experience-based learning of Indian Culture, values, languages, traditions, festivals and our history for children of our community to help raise them as strong, content, emotionally mature and happy individuals and successful leaders.
Our classes run every Sunday (September through May) from 2:30PM to 4:30PM in West Chester, PA
Our curriculum spans from the age of 3 (pre-K) through the end of High School (Grade 12)

For DBV graduates who are motivated to further explore, develop, and integrate a cultural relevance to their modern lives, we offer a robust Youth Group program (DBVYG). Under the guidance of dedicated mentors, DBVYG members put cultural values into action through volunteer work and community involvement. They strengthen their cultural identity through discussions, debate, and teaching.

Working with People's Pantry
During the month of February, DBV children participated in the Youth Group’s “Spread the Love” campaign. They earned jars of peanut butter and jelly to donate by doing a good deed. Together, our children collected 60 jars to benefit the People’s Pantry!
